THE CURSE
Are you happy?
Waking up to a nightmare. Every day is a dare.
You put your clothes on slowly,
Your perfected fake smile is your crowning glory.
You paste it on and set about to repeat the pain.
Why?
Every single day; same people, new levels of torture.
A snide comment there, a scornful look here.
Yet you cling on to life like it’s all you hold dear.
You go behind the people who hate you And everything you do.
Faithful as a dog, loyal even when beaten black and blue.
Are you happy?
You forget the tears, you forget the pain,
At the end of the day, nothing did you gain.
Why does this will remain?
Pandora’s box has the answer,
Hopefully it will have the cloth to blot what makes your vision blur.
